Dupré Kelly, professionally known as “DoItAll” of the platinum selling hip hop group Lords of the Underground, is hosting the WINNING in Business economic panel discussion at the Pillar College Newark campus located at 60 Park Place on Saturday, April 23 at 10:30 a.m. This event is free and open to the public with the option to attend in person or virtually via Zoom. RSVP is required.
The purpose of this event is to educate women, who have launched businesses during the pandemic, about the various options available to them an entrepreneur.
A Newark native who grew up in the West Ward, Kelly is also an entrepreneur and philanthropist who is dedicated to giving back, especially to his hometown. His non-profit organization, 211 Community Impact (211 Ci) is devoted to developing programs or working with organizations that help the Newark community. This panel event is something Dupree wanted to be a part of to help female entrepreneurs.
“The 211 Women’s Impact Network (WIN) was a vision birthed from the understanding that women in our community need more than just access to resources and information. Women are consistently giving and expect little to nothing in return,” Kelly said. “WIN aims to give back to these women and provide them with resources and assistance to put those resources to good use.”
Others participating in this event are moderator Bibi Steward, Owner of Modest Tea Boutique in Newark’s Central Ward, Dr. Rosette Adera, Chair of the Department of Business Administration and Management, Ferlanda Fox Nixon, Esq, Chief of Policy and External Affairs at The African American Chamber of Commerce of NJ and Maggie Peters, Program Manager of New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA).
In-person space is limited, and registration is required to attend in-person or virtually. Parking validation will be given to those who attend in-person. To register to attend this event in person or virtually, visit https://pillar.edu/event/winning-in-business/.
