NEW BRITAIN – Winning Ways, a nonprofit organization that helps those recovering from addiction and coming out of incarceration, will be hosting its first Mother’s Day Paint & Sip Brunch on Sunday, May 8.
“Guests will have the unique experience of Connecticut’s only brunch, paint and sip complete with catering from the renowned restaurant and social media icon My Wife Didn’t Cook,” Winning Ways said. “We’re doing our part to support local businesses and individuals in underserved communities.”
The paint session will be Sunday, May 8 from 1-3 p.m. at My Wife Didn’t Cook, 89 West Main Street, New Britain.
Winning Ways will be raising money to directly benefit its work in the re-entry community. The monies will be raised through sponsorships and the ticket sales of the event.
“Due to ticket sales demand we will be doing two events on the same day,” Winning Ways wrote on its Facebook page. “We will also be having a Mother’s Day Paint and Sip dinner.”
Live music will be provided by DJ Kiss Me I’m Famous while an art instructor guides the paint session.
The brunch will include a choice of fish and grits, shrimp and grits, chicken and waffles, or a vegetarian option and one complimentary mimosa.
The dinner, which will start at 5 p.m., will include a $25 dinner voucher and one complimentary glass of wine. Special guest and author Stephen Campbell, who published “Sea Through Emotions: Poetry from a Mental Prison,” will be reading his poetry live.
Winning Ways expects more than 50 guests will attend the brunch and dinner.
Tickets for the brunch are $60 and tickets for the dinner are $65.
