BATH — The Kennebec Estuary Land Trust will host a workshop on the simple process making elderberry tincture at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, at the LOCAL Garden at the corner of High and Lemont streets. Participants can use fresh or dried elderberries and other simple ingredients, which will be provided, to make and bring home a tincture.
Laurie Burhoe, KELT’s LOCAL Garden coordinator, will showcase a simple recipe she uses to make an elderberry tincture. Participants are invited to bring a picnic lunch to enjoy at the garden following the program.
Burhoe has been involved with the LOCAL Garden since 2010 and became KELT’s garden coordinator in 2016. As a Maine Master Gardener, she works with children, adults, and families to care for the LOCAL Garden and teach gardening techniques.
The workshop is for adults only and no prior experience needed. A suggested donation to cover the cost of supplies is $5.
This is a light rain or shine event. Because of limited capacity, registration is required by visiting kennebecestuary.org or by calling 207-442-8400. T
