OUR PICKS:
Ramsey County commissioner Nicole Frethem is holding an open house meeting to discuss issues related to the development of Rice Creek Commons, the former Twin Cities Army Ammunition Plant in Arden Hills.
The event will give residents access to staff and others who can provide information on the development and include a vehicle tour of the site.
Last month, Ramsey County sent a letter rejecting an agreement between Arden Hills and the master developer Alatus. The county is seeking more housing at the site. Arden Hills officials and the county, which owns the 427-acre site, have disagreed in elements of the development since 2018, with housing density a key issue.
Last summer Frethem hosted a series of “dialogue circles” on the development.
Community members interested in the development can attend the open house from 1 to 4 p.m., on Aug. 13, at the Ramsey County Public Works Building, Marsden Room, 1425 Paul Kirkwold Dr, Arden Hills.
