Cuyahoga Falls to host fire truck pull fundraiser Sept. 3 – cleveland.com

The second annual Downtown Cuyahoga Falls Fire Truck Pull is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 3, from 5-10 p.m. Proceeds from the event benefit the Cuyahoga Falls Firefighter Memorial Foundation. CUYAHOGA FALLS, Ohio – The city of Cuyahoga Falls will hold the second annual Downtown Cuyahoga Falls Fire Truck Pull on Saturday, Sept. 3 from 5-10 p.m. on Front Street.
Proceeds will benefit the Cuyahoga Falls Firefighter Memorial Foundation and the construction of a memorial to honor individuals who served as firefighters for the city and especially those who died in the line of duty, according to the city.
Teams of up to 10 people will compete to see who can pull a Cuyahoga Falls Fire Truck 40 feet in the fastest time. Teams can also choose to pull the truck just for fun. Registration is $250 per team or $25 per person for individuals who want to join a team. All participants must sign a waiver of liability. Team check-in will be held from 4-4:45 p.m. and the event will begin at 5 p.m. Teams can register for the event here and individuals can register for the event here.
The event also features food trucks, craft beer vendors and activities for kids provided by Mobile Rec through the Cuyahoga Falls Parks and Recreation Department. Local band Follow the Sun will perform at 8 p.m.
Event and team sponsorships are available, and donations to the Cuyahoga Falls Firefighter Memorial Foundation may be made on the event website or by check payable to Cuyahoga Falls Firefighter Memorial Foundation (memo: fire truck pull) C/O City of Cuyahoga Falls, 2310 2nd St., Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio 44221.
“After seeing the success of the Cuyahoga Falls Fire Truck Pull last year, the Cuyahoga Falls Firefighter Memorial Foundation is both excited and grateful to be chosen as the beneficiary of this year’s event,” Cuyahoga Falls Firefighter Memorial Foundation President Matthew Kee said in a news release. “This is an opportunity for us to raise the necessary funding to build a memorial site for our fallen firefighters outside of Fire Station One on Front Street.”
Front Street between Broad Boulevard and Portage Trail will be closed to traffic on Saturday, Sept. 3, from 3-8 p.m. for the event, according to the city.
