The City of Somerville will host free flu and updated COVID-19 booster vaccination clinics for residents, including clinics open only to seniors aged 65+, in September and October.
In addition to Somerville’s public vaccine clinics, the City is also partnering with local schools, childcare centers, the Somerville Housing Authority, and organizations working with homebound community members to distribute the vaccines. The flu vaccine, and the updated COVID-19 booster dose, are provided at no cost, regardless of health insurance or immigration status.
Advance registration is required, and can be completed online at somervillema.gov/vaccineclinics or by calling 311 (617-666-3311).
The updated COVID-19 booster is recommended for everyone aged 12 and older, at least two months after their last dose. Seniors are welcome at any clinic. Please bring your vaccine card to the appointment.
The flu vaccine is available to everyone three years and older. City flu clinics offer both the high-dose vaccine for persons 65 and older and the standard dose vaccine for those under 65. Seniors are welcome at any clinic. Those who have health coverage should bring their insurance cards (including MassHealth and Medicare) with them, but the vaccines are free to all Somerville residents regardless of whether they have insurance.
Flu vaccines and updated COVID-19 boosters are also available at many pharmacies and other locations. Search for providers at vaccines.gov.
