Rebel hoops to host two prospects this weekend – 247Sports

One Ole Miss 2023 basketball commitment and one current 2024 Ole Miss target will be in Oxford, Mississippi this weekend. Despite already committing to the Rebels during the summer, four-star center Rashaud Marshall will soon take his official visit, while Kyle Greene, a 2024 four-star guard will take an unofficial visit.
Kyle Greene, also known as “KJ” Greene, is a 6-foot-2, 170 pounder from Pace Academy in Atlanta, Georgia. Greene is considered a four star in the composite index and a three-star by 247Sports. According to the composite index, Greene is a top-100 prospect for his class, the No. 8 ranked player in the state of Georgia and No. 17 point guard nationally. Greene holds early offers from Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Georgia Tech, Cincinnati, Georgia, Georgetown, Clemson, LSU, Kennesaw State, Harvard, UMass, Missouri, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Tulane, USF and a few other non Power Five programs.
As a sophomore at Pace Academy, Greene averaged roughly nine points per game, along with an average of 6.5 assists, three rebounds and two steals per game. In 30 games played, Greene scored double figures in 10 of them, with a season-high 23 points scored early in the 2021-2022 season against South Atlanta. He had a season high seven boards against Lovett and has a season high 12 assists against Galloway.
Greene’s team finished their season 25-5 a year ago, a perfect 8-0 in league play and lost to Butler in the second round of the GHSA-AA playoffs.
Marshall, a 6-foot-9, 215 pounder from Blytheville, Arkansas is his state’s top-ranked prospect in his class according to both 247Sports and in the industry composite listings. Marshall is ranked as the No. 11 center in the 2023 class according to 247Sports. In composite listings, Marshall is given a grade of 0.9476 as the No. 16 center in his class.
“I loved when I first touched down in Oxford, everyone was there greeting me, ‘How you doing?’ and stuff like that. Man, it felt like home as soon as I walked into the door,” Marshall told Inside The Rebels after making his Ole Miss commitment. “It was just a nice experience looking at the gym. When I looked at the court. I just saw myself on it.”
As a member of the Blytheville Chickasaws, Marshall was part of a high school team that finished the 2021-2022 season with an overall record of 33-7 and a 14-1 record in league play, competing in 4A Region 3. His team made it all the way to the Class 4A state finals, where they lost to Magnolia.
The Rebels have four commits from the current 2023 recruiting class. Jacob Gazzo from McComb, Mississippi was the first commitment that came in March of 2021. Gazzo was followed by Marshall who committed on July 7. Jordan Burks was the most recent 2023 commit, making his decision back on August 11. On September 22, the Rebels locked up Mississippi’s No. 1 recruit in point guard Josh HubbardAs it stands currently, Ole Miss has the No. 13 ranked 2023 class by 247Sports and in composite listings.
As of September 22, there are no 2024 commitments for the Rebels for their 2024 recruiting class.
