St. Louis Public Radio will be hosting “50 Fest” from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday in the Public Media Commons on Olive Street in Grand Center.
St. Louis Public Radio is inviting community members to join in the continuing celebration of the station’s 50th anniversary with “50 Fest,” a street festival to be held from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday in the Public Media Commons on Olive Street in Grand Center.
STLPR is a listener-supported service of the University of Missouri–St. Louis, and it first broadcast on June 2, 1972.
Attendees on Saturday can enjoy food trucks and live entertainment, including DJ Crim Dolla Cray and the Saint Boogie Brass Band. There will also be a children’s zone with games, arts and crafts, face painting and more.
There will be an opportunity to pop inside UMSL at Grand Center to visit St. Louis Public Radio’s 50th anniversary exhibit and mix and mingle with the station’s on-air staff. Listeners also will have a chance to record testimonials about the station, which could be used on air.
Admission to the event is free and food and beverages will be available for purchase. More information can be found at stlpr.org/50fest.
