Mint Hill Chamber Of Commerce To Host Cornhole Tournament At Pour 64 – The Mint Hill Times

MINT HILL, NC – On Saturday, October 15, 32 teams will compete for the top prize in the Mint Hill Chamber of Commerce 4th Annual Cornhole Tournament.
The Cornhole Tournament was started as a way to support scholarships for the Chamber’s Junior Ambassadors from local high schools.  “Our golf tournament supports our college scholarship program for deserving high school seniors from Mint Hill,” explains Executive Director Paige McKinney.  “The Cornhole Tournament supports our Junior Ambassadors from Independence, Queen’s Grant and Rocky River High Schools.  These students who participate in the Junior Ambassador Program their senior year are eligible for a scholarship, and proceeds from the Cornhole Tournament go toward that scholarship program.”
Since its inception, the Cornhole Tournament has only improved from year to year, and this year is no exception.  Thanks to the generosity of six “Board Sponsors,” this year’s competition will be played on competition regulation boards made by Mint Hill Police Department’s very own Lieutenant Lezette.  Many thanks to Board Sponsors Carolina Hemp Company of Mint Hill, Garage Force, Handyman Solutions, Leisure Travel Experts, SWS Financial Group, and Terry V. Aaseby, CPA, for improving the quality of play at this year’s tournament!
These six Board Sponsors aren’t the only ones that make this event possible.  Venue sponsor Pour 64 is excited to host the tournament for the fourth year running.  “As a business and personally, we are always happy to support our local community,” says Owner Sarah Brock.  “This is a fun event each year and it’s a great way to have fun while raising money.”
“Massage Sanctuary is excited to sponsor this event,” says Title Sponsor and Owner Lisa Lane.  “We enjoy supporting our community and the Mint Hill Chamber, and thought it would be a fun event to branch out with. Normally we do sponsorships with golf tournaments, but this is a different type of community event, and we want to make sure it’s a fun one!”
Anyone from the community is welcome to participate in the Cornhole Tournament, not just Chamber of Commerce members.  Registration is $25 per person or $50 per two-person team.  Visit eventbrite to register: https://chambercornhole.eventbrite.com/.
If throwing bean bags isn’t your style, come on out and enjoy what’s sure to be a beautiful fall afternoon with raffles, music and food from OooWee BBQ!  A variety of prizes donated by local businesses will be raffled off, and there will also be a 50/50 cash raffle.  Raffle tickets can be purchased at the event, but note that you must be present to win.  “Come join chamber members and members of our community for food, drinks, raffles and fun!” encourages Committee Chair Gary Wojciechowicz from Tactical Pest.
“The cornhole tournament is always such a great way not only to raise funds to support the education of our Junior Ambassadors but also to enjoy downtown Mint Hill,” says McKinney.  “We always want to encourage our community to enjoy everything our downtown area has to offer.”
The 4th Annual Cornhole Tournament runs from 2:00 pm – 7:00 pm on October 15 at Pour 64.  Follow @minthill.chamber on social media for the latest news on the Cornhole Tournament and everything happening at the Chamber of Commerce.
