NYPD hosts active-shooter training session on Staten Island; here’s what to expect – SILive.com

The NYPD Counterterrorism Division is holding an event for Staten Islanders.
STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The NYPD Counterterrorism Division will be hosting a free community active-shooter training session in Concord on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
The event will take place at Christian Pentecostal Church, 1020 Targee St.
In recent years, active-shooter situations have become an increasing cause of concern throughout the country. The NYPD’s goal is to give Islanders the tools to use should such a situation happen.
Attendees will gain in-depth knowledge of the three fundamentals of surviving an active-shooter situation and also what information to provide to a 911 operator in the event of this type of emergency.
