GOOD Morning America host Michael Strahan has shut down his co-host Cecilia Vega on live TV.
Michael left her speechless after asking a tough question about sports.
During Monday's episode, Michael, Cecilia, and George Stephanopoulos sat behind the desk.
They led a segment on NFL quarterback Tom Brady setting another record- and Cecilia shared her thoughts.
"You know, I'm always saying. Brady broke this record in one year, and that's surprising because usually these sack records, they hold for a really long time, so I just always feel like I'm telling you this. I wish it would sink in," she said to Michael.
Michael, a former football star, was quick to reply, however.
"You're always schooling me on sports," he hit back.
"I know. I know," Cecilia replied.
Michael continued: "Out of curiosity, how do you get a half of sack?"
The GMA host put down his papers, folded his hands, and stared at his co-host.
"Um…." Cecilia said.
"Thank you," he replied, turning to the camera with a smile on his face.
George laughed and said: "I was going to answer that."
"For those of you who don't know, a half sack is when two people hit the quarterback at the same time. You split the sacks," he said.
Cecilia joked: "I told you!"
Michael, 50, played professional ball for years before making it on the small screen.
He started playing during his senior year of high school and continued throughout college.
When Michael graduated, he entered the NFL.
In 1993, the star was drafted to the New York Giants, but only played six games, due to injuries.
However, in 1997, he had breakout season, recording 14 sacks.
Michael continued to break records in his 15-year career- retiring in 2008.
Now, the morning show host balances GMA with commentating on Sunday Night Football, along with other projects.
Earlier this week, fellow GMA host Robin Roberts shared an announcement about Michael.
During GMA on Wednesday, the show took a moment to celebrate one of its own.
Robin, George, and Lara Spencer sat alongside Michael on the show to deliver the good news.
“Now we have a very special announcement,” Robin began.
She continued: “Michael Strahan! He is getting an honor from his home state of Texas.”
Robin then turned to the man of the hour to remind him: “You’re already an NFL Hall of Famer.”
Then she added for the audience: “Now he’s set to be inducted into the Texas Sports Hall of Fame.”
Everyone on set clapped for Michael as he thanked them all for their kind congratulations.
As the special segment went on, his co-hosts surprised Michael with a few throwback photos of the star.
One featured Michael from his high school football days and then from his college team days.
Robin shared more of the announcement, telling viewers: “Texas Hall of Fame describes Michael, as, quote, ‘Without a doubt, one of the most feared defensive players in NFL history.’”
Michael joked in response: “Most feared? That’s funny, tell my kids that.
"Men used to fear me, kids don’t.”
Michael was born in Houston, Texas, and he went to high school in the area at Westbury High school.
He then went on to attend college in Houston, as well, at Texas Southern University.
