Several Halloween events are taking place on Monday, Oct. 31.
The village will host a Halloween Parade on Sunday, Oct. 30, beginning at 2 p.m. East Market St will be closed from the Village Hall to the traffic light and Route 9 will be closed from the light to the American Legion for approximately 45 minutes. Expect traffic delays.
Kingston City Hall will be hosting trick-or-treaters from 3 p.m.-4:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 31, with various departments having decorated doors and passing out candy to costumed visitors.
New Paltz will also host a number of festivities on Halloween, Oct. 31. The festivities kick off with trick-or-treating at Historic Huguenot Street from 3:30-5:30 p.m. and the Bakery’s night of the 100 Pumpkins event throughout the evening. The New Paltz Halloween parade steps off from New Paltz Middle School at 196 Main St. at 5:30 p.m before marching down Main Street to Plattekill Avenue and ending at the old firehouse. The parade will include a band of New Paltz high and middle school students directed by Laurie Morris and an old hearse driven by Steve Esposito. Apples and candy bars will be available at the end of the parade for pickup. Woodstock’s Halloween parade steps off from Denning Street at 5 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 31, and proceeds up Mill Hill Road to the Village Green. Parade participants should arrive by 4:45 p.m. After the parade, stick around the Village Green for a costume contest, musical performances and possibly a flash dance. Mill Hill and Tinker Street will be closed between 4:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. for the celebration, detour is via Tannery Brook Road and Pine Grove Street.
This year’s Halloween curfews for Monday, Oct. 31, are:
• City of Kingston: 8 p.m for children under 16
• New Paltz: No curfew
• Red Hook: No curfew
• Rhinebeck: No curfew in the town
• Saugerties: 8 p.m. for the town and village.
• Town of Ulster: 8 p.m. for anyone 16 and younger.
• Woodstock: No curfew.
