Stark Bites: Travelin' Tom's offering free hot chocolate; Desert Inn to … – Canton Repository

Travelin’ Tom’s Coffee Truck franchise owners TJ and Heather Murphy are celebrating the launch of their coffee truck with free hot chocolate Jan. 31 at the North Canton Public Library.
They will be on-site from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at the library, 185 N. Main St. in North Canton.
Travelin’ Tom’s brings the coffee shop experience to you, offering cafe-style beverages including iced lattes, cappuccinos and americanos, plus lemonade, teas and energy drinks.
“When Travelin’ Tom’s was first brought to our attention, we immediately had to get on the list,” Heather Murphy said. “We wanted a truck as soon as possible. The professionalism, community involvement, and quality and diversity of the product is what really sold us. With the success of our Kona Ice business and the support of the corporate staff, we are thrilled to invest and bring the coffee to the people!”
Travelin’ Tom’s is brought to you by its parent company, Kona Ice. Both businesses are built with the same principles and resources to provide the best beverages on the go. The coffee truck can go anywhere you want, from sports events and hospitals to corporate offices and churches.
Travelin’ Tom’s Coffee Truck was founded and launched by Kona Ice in early 2020. It has rapidly expanded since its launch to serve customers across the country. The Murphys are the franchisees behind the Travelin’ Tom’s Coffee Truck of Canton.

Gervasi Vineyard, at 1700 55th St. NE in Canton, is rebranding under the name Gervasi Vineyard Resort & Spa. The slight name change is part of a rebrand initiative to stay relevant in the tourism market.
General Manager Scott Swaldo shared in an email newsletter that this will allow the staff to market Gervasi Vineyard to a regional tourism market and attract new tourists to the area.
“It is our vision to become a leading destination resort that delivers a world class hospitality experience where people can connect to enhance their lives. Including Resort & Spa in our name will better describe to guests the offerings they will expect on property,” Swaldo said in the newsletter.
Along with the name change, Gervasi Vineyard Resort & Spa is also working on its 20,000-square-foot expansion project of The Spa and The Cave and is expanding its international H2B employee program to better serve the high summer demand.
The Cave is expected to open in late February and will consist of an underground 1,000-square-foot tasting room and adjoining 4,500-square-foot wine barrel cave for aging. The Cave will offer exclusive tasting tours, public tasting tours and private events.
The Spa does not yet have a completion date, but it will offer massages, facials, body indulgences, glam services and a couple’s suite experience.
